An analysis of of relative distance (Family map, 1983-2009)
23″ x 65″
Edition of 3
The piece is about my family. It is a journal and a map, charting where each member of my family was living on any year starting with the year I was born. Each row of rectangles represents a different member of my family and each column of rectangles represents a different year. The colors correspond to different countries, showing which country a particular person was in on a particular day. The colors were determined using the country dial code and a color-numbering system. The idea was to create an abstracted map that illustrated the times when my family was together, or apart.
